SHILLONG: The UDP is keen to have a post-poll alliance with other regional parties as mooted by KHNAM.
“We had in fact sent our feelers to the HSPDP supremo Hoping Stone Lyngdoh last year to have a pre-poll alliance in the district council. But the HSPDP supremo till date has not responded to our feelers,” UDP secretary Allantry F Dkhar said here on Thursday.
He said that the party would be sending another feeler to Lyngdoh in the next few days in this regard. “We are hoping to get a positive response from the HSPDP supremo this time round,” Dkhar said.
The UDP secretary, however, expressed his happiness over KHNAM’s openness to post-poll alliance.
Earlier, KHNAM had also expressed their keenness to have a post-poll alliance with other regional parties to prevent the Congress from forming the Executive Committee (EC) in the KHADC.
