District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills has promulgated an order under section 144 CrPC prohibiting dumping of garbage in public places, road side thoroughfares in the whole of greater Shillong.
Public toilet
As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, Star Cement extended financial assistance for construction of a Public Toilet at the Training Hall of the Circuit house in Nongstoin. The Toilet was inaugurated by Michael Nongrum, Area Sales Manager, Star Cement in the presence of S. Warjri MCS Extra Assistance Commissioner West Khasi hills District and the official of the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
