SHILLONG: Though the four widows of Khasi villagers, who were killed at Langpih during police firing on May 14, 2010, will get the additional financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each as per the recent High Court order, the 12 others who received severe injuries in the police firing, are yet to get any financial aid.
In addition to Rs 2 lakh each, the four widows of Langpih had already availed Rs 6 lakh each. But the injured have not got anything till date.
When contacted,  H.L Shangreiso, the advocate who is handling the case of the four widows, said that the injured persons were  yet to approach the Court.
According to Shangreiso, the injured persons can still approach the Court for redress.
“Since only the wives of the deceased filed the writ petitions, the Court focused on the matter and the injured persons can still get justice if they approach the Court”, Shangreiso said.
