One way re-imposed

The ‘one way’ from Dhankheti and Fire Brigade which was lifted during the school winter vacation will be re-imposed from February 12, 2014 from 7 am to 9 am on school days consequent upon the resumption of most of the schools around Laitumkhrah area.

Relief material distributed

The Shillong centre of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, on the occasion of 119th Birth Anniversary of Yogacharya Sreemath Swami Pranabanandaji Maharaj, distributed relief materials including blankets to about 189 under privileged families of Naljuri (Amlymping) village, Tamabil, Jaintia Hills on February 9, 2014, in presence of local headman Podum Pohlynjar. A lunch was also organised for the villagers. There are plans to organise similar activities in other villages of the area.

Home Guard requisition

The Commandant of the Home Guard, West Jaintia Hills District, has informed that the office requires around 200 trained Home Guards Volunteers (both men and women) for the elections to the JHADC. Interested volunteers have to report to the office of the District Home Guards Commandant, Jowai, on February 18 during office hours.
