SHILLONG: The ANVC-B has said that initiative is still on to reach out to several groups for lasting peace in Garo Hills.

“ANVC-B was an alternative for deserters of UALA and GNLA. The members of GNLA and UALA who deserted their parent organizations, were willing to come under the ANVC-B fold,” a statement issued by the militant outfit on Thursday said.

According to ANVC-B, the Garos are one and peace is a priority. “Our mission was to bring the displaced youths to mainstream through a proper platform and rehabilitation policy which we believed would have diminished militancy to a great extent in Garo Hills.”
