SHILLONG: It is a known fact that Shillong is an unplanned town with no proper planning and landscaping and the Urban Affairs department is now working on a project to initiate landscaping of the city.

Speaking to reporters here recently, Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said that there is a need to re-design the city.

The Department is also working on a project to promote the use of digital advertisement hoardings in the city which would add to the beauty of the city since the present advertisement hoardings are rather turning out to be an eyesore.

Lyngdoh informed that the project has been sanctioned and the department is currently in the process of e-tendering.

The Department also wants to beautify the junctions and pavements of certain areas of the town.
