Road mishap claims two

SHILLONG: Two persons died on the spot after one Tata Sumo (MZ-01J-4053) driven by Lalhrial Puia collided head on with one truck NL-01G-6710) driven by Md. Kamal Ahmed at Nongsning, NH-44, East Jaintia Hills on February 15 at 7 am.

Two occupants of the Sumo vehicle who died in the incident are Lalhanun Saagi (30) and Medal Vanlalazuala (20) died and eight others sustained injuries and were removed to CHC, Khliehriat.

The driver of the truck fled away after the incident and police has registered a criminal case in this connection.
