SHILLONG: Tibetan spiritual leader, The Dalai Lama, has written to Governor Dr. KK Paul, acknowledging the hospitality accorded to him during his three-day visit to Meghalaya earlier this month.
In a letter addressed to the Governor, The Dalai Lama thanked him for the warm friendship and hospitality which was accorded to him during his stay at Raj Bhavan.
“I understand that Meghalaya has made great strides in social and economic development in recent years and this will become all the more meaningful as it results in actually improving the lives of ordinary people,” The Dalai Lama said.
The Dalai Lama also expressed his happiness at having interacted with people from different walks of life during his visit to the State.
“It was heartening to see the interest and enthusiasm the people showed in the cultivation of human values and religious harmony that I believe can help us in dealing with the various challenges we face today,” he said.
