SHILLONG: With election date for KHADC and JHADC approaching, campaigning has gained momentum.

The campaigning would come to an end on Saturday and the political parties have started using all techniques and ways to woo voters. Amongst all, the most preferred way to attract the crowd is political rally.

Candidates are seen meeting the voters personally till late nights.

The deployment of security forces have already started and necessary security arrangement is being worked out.

It may be mentioned that 6, 68,398 voters would exercise their franchise on Monday in 999 polling stations that have been set up across the Khasi Hills.

Total 1492 polling stations have been set up in the state ) for the elections in two district councils. The District Council Affairs would spend Rs 9.06 crore to carry out the whole exercise.

The results would be announced on February 27
