JOWAI: RTI actvists from Jaintia Hills, including Arlin Dkhar, Deimon Phawa and Friday Sana strongly condemned the JHADC Chief, MB Rymbai for misleading the people of Jaintia Hills District by saying that the RTI reports is false and all allegations against him are untrue and baseless.

Speaking to media persons here, RTI activists including Arlin Dkhar, Demon Phawa and Friday Sana said, “We are not afraid of his (Rymbai) threat to file a defamation case against us when we have all the facts to prove.

“MB Rymbai has misused JHADC funds and also the land compensation meant for the Lum-pohsiej Locality, Khliehtyrshi and his denial is of no use, because we have the RTI reports received by us which proved that he himself withdrew the amount of Rs 1.15 lakh for land compensation and Rs 1.18 crores from JHADC Discretionary Grant and Gratuity Relief”, Phawa said.

They informed that he (Rymbai) received Cheque from the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills and also Rs 1.18 crore from the Finance and Account Officer (FAO), JHADC duely signed by himself in the cash book when he received the amount. The claims made by the JHADC CEM has no facts it is just to misslead the people and trying to cover up all his wrong doings, they said If RTI reports is false, instead of threatening to file a defamation case against us, the JHADC Chief should file a case against both the PIOs – of the Revenue Department at DC Office, Jowai and also the PIO of the JHADC FAO” who has issued us the wrong RTI reports.

“We are surprised that the CEM has denied everything, when the facts is already in the RTI reports which we obtained from his own Department”, Dkhar said adding that they are only make us of their right to seek information through RTI Act, 2005, we have nothing against him.

They said all allegations made by the CEM against them for trying to tarnish his political career is just an assumption. Out of the total amount of Rs. 1.18 crores, the JHADC Chief has withdrew Rs. 43.50 lakhs in the name of Coming Pyrtuh who has lodged a complaints against him (Rymbai) for making false documents in his name and withdrew the amount in his name.
