HILLONG: KHNAM has slammed Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma for stating that the Government would have to verify whether the KSU vice president Frederick Kharmawphlang was having any nexus with the banned militant outfit HNLC from before.

“This is an immature statement on the part of the Chief Minister. Kharmawphlang was compelled to join the militant outfit after being disappointed with the adamant attitude of the Government to implement the ILP,” KHNAM working president Adelbert Nongrum said in a statement here on Thursday.

He said that the party has seen the writing in the walls during the agitations over the ILP issue on the anger in many of the youths over the attitude of the Government. He urged upon the Government to take measures to dispense the anger among the youth which might have serious repercussions in the future.
