Three GNLA ultras gunned down in Assam

SHILLONG: Three Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militants were killed during an encounter with security forces and arms and ammunitions were also seized in Goalpara district of Assam in the wee hours of Friday.
“Three GNLA militants were killed in the encounter at the Kasumari foothills of Thanti under Krishnai police station in Goalpara district,” an Assam Police spokesperson said here.
“Police recovered three 9mm pistols, seven rounds of live cartridges of Insas rifle, two gelatins, some explosive substances and coil from the spot,” the spokesperson said. The bodies have been sent to Goalpara for postmortem. (With inputs from PTI)
