SHILLONG: In what can be termed as a hurdle to the candidature of PBM Basaiawmoit, the General Secretary of Peoples’ Candidate Forum, Joannes J T L Lamare came out of the Forum and decided not to support Basaiawmoit.

Moreover, in a public gathering on Friday at Nongkrem, Lamare openly supported the Congress candidate Lambor Malngiang and denounced the HSPDP candidate Ardent Basaiawmoit for the KHADC polls.

Lamare alleged that since Ardent was trying to involve himself with the Peoples Candidate Forum, he has decided to quit the post of General Secretary.

It was on January 6 that Lamare, who was then the General Secretary of Peoples Candidate Forum announced to the media the candidature of PBM Basaiawmoit. In November last year, Nongkrem legislator Ardent Basaiawmoit issued a legal notice to Lamare who asked for the details of Laitkor Rngi internal road following the RTI findings on the scheme.
