TURA: Williamnagar Police on Friday last arrested a CRPF jawan on charges of molestation.
According to a source from the Garo Students’ Union (GSU), East Zone, a 22-year-old woman from Nakam Bazaar in Williamnagar was molested by the CRPF personnel A Basumatary on Friday evening. The incident took place at around 8:15 pm when the accused was on duty at Williamnagar Main Market.
The accused allegedly entered into Nakam Bazaar locality and threatened an elderly man at gunpoint after which he turned on the victim. The accused was immediately arrested after an FIR was filed by the relatives of the victim.
