CSWO General Secy forfeits security deposit

NONGPOH: CSWO (Irene) central body general secretary Christabell Wanniang who unsuccessfully contested from Umroi constituency lost her security deposits along with another NGO leader, former HANM Western Zone president Kodios Thongni from Jirang seat.

According to prescribed norms, a candidate who fails to secure one-sixth of the total valid votes polled loses his/her security deposits.

Joining Wanniang from the same constituency is HSPDP candidate Pynwanbor Sylliang. While from Jirang seat, along with Thongni, Independent candidate Albertus Lapang and UDP candidate Balawan Syiemiong lost their security deposits.

From the prestigious seat of Nongpoh, Badhok Nongmalieh from the HSPDP lost his security deposit for the second time in a row as in the MLA election last year he drew a blank. From the newly created constituency of Umsning, Independent candidate Hilarus Marbaniang also forfeited his security deposit.

Two candidates from Mawhati namely UDP candidate B Tmung and HSPDP candidate Khrawpyrkhat Marwein lost their security deposits as well.
