SHILLONG: The Directorate of School Education and Literacy will issue termination notices to the ‘tainted’ teachers on Friday after the Law Department gave its nod recently.

According to sources, though as many as 246 tainted will be terminated, appointments for only 25 selected candidates will be made initially.

The termination of services was following the recommendations of the High Level Scrutiny Committee which detected anomalies in the appointment of LP teachers in the State in 2010.
