Probe ordered over construction of Anganwadi centres: Ibibo

Imphal: The government will order a departmental enquiry over construction of Anganwadi centres in the state, Chief Minister, O Ibobi Singh informed the House during question hour. He said he doubted the report given by the Social Welfare department as physical verifications have proved that the works submitted as completed are not yet completed.
Raising the matter Kh Joykisan said when he visited the Anganwadi centres which were officially declared as completed construction works in the early stages. Chief Minister, Ibobi said he will ask the concerned officials and all the district administrations to present a power point presentation and a high level committee will be formed to investigate into the matter.
The CM also informed the House that all MLAs are required to take security clearance from the government if they have to move out of the Imphal Municipal areas.
Dy CM, Gaikhangam said earlier militants took away all the weapons from the escort of an MLA when he went to his residence. Additional security personnel have to be pressed into duty to avoid such incidents he said.
Veterinary Minister Govindas said there is shortage of about 50 percent to the required strength of veterinary doctors in the state, hence doctors can not be posted in all the veterinary centres.
He assured to depute doctors once a week to the places where there are no veterinary centres. (UNI)
