Downplays rival C-in-C, Reding’s fire power

TURA: The Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) has reacted strongly to the recent newspaper report in which Dura Marak, the General Secretary of the newly floated militant group, A’chik songna An’pachakgipa Kotok (ASAK), had stated that the GNLA Commander-in-Chief, Sohan D Shira was not fit to represent the Garo people.

Coming down hard on the rival militant group, the militant leader who chose to be identified only as the GNLA Northern Command stated that it was not Sohan but the GNLA who represented the Garo people and that Sohan only worked for the GNLA.

On the claims of the rival outfit’s General Secretary that Sohan could be hunted down within a week if the police conduct a tight operation in the Durama Hills, the militant leader said that it had enough arms and fire power to meet any kind of challenges and situations. He said that a true martyr would never switch allegiance from one group to the other and named 13 of the GNLA deserters- Jack, Nawal, Gachi, Suanggre, Petchong, Jorang, Rongma, Arikgam, Braram, Ringgrak, Bikgang, Rikgang and Songna who he termed as traitors.

Further, claiming that its office bearers were faithful and still working with dedication for the outfit the GNLA leader said that Reding should be ashamed of himself for deserting the GNLA and downplayed his fire power saying he had in his possession only one HK rifle and a 9mm carbine.
