Lait Sing Shylla elected new JHADC Chairman unopposed

JOWAI: Lait Sing Shylla, an MDC from Ummulong-Moodymmai, was elected as the new Chairman of JHADC unopposed on Thursday.

The West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, PS Dkhar announced this as Shylla was the lone candidate for the post.

The newly-elected chairman was later felicitated in the House. Members including Moonligh Pariat, Chanky Lyngdoh, Richard Sing Lyngdoh (all from UDP) expressed their happiness to have Shylla as the leader of the House.

Election of JHADC CEM: Meanwhile, the newly elected Chairman announced that the election for the JHADC CEM’s post will be held on Friday at 11 am.

Nartiang-Umladang MDC, Thombor Shiwat, who was elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), filed his nomination paper on Thursday.

Sources informed that Shiwat is the lone contestant for the post of CEM.
