SHILLONG: The NPP legislator James K Sangma has not attended even a single sitting of the ongoing budget session of the State legislative Assembly.
This also resulted in the lapse of many important motions tabled by him.
The junior Sangma has been campaigning in Delhi for the past many days to attend various party meetings.
The NPP legislator was supposed to raise several important issues in the form of motions like functioning of the Home (Police) department with regards to the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, the style and functioning of the PWD department and Directorate of Sport and Youth Affairs among others.
All these motions have lapsed since the junior Sangma was not present in the House.
Nongthymmai legislator Jemino Mawthoh was also conspicuous by his absence when he was supposed to move an important motion to discuss the tampering of the land documents for acquisition of land relating to new Shillong Township.
Mawthoh was present in the House during the Question Hour on Thursday.
