JOWAI: Former Chief Executive Member of JHADC, MB Rymbai, who is embroiled in a multi-crore scam, was arrested by police on Thursday night at around 10pm. He will be produced before the court on Friday, police said.
The arrest comes in the wake of a threat issued to JYF President Poipynhun L Majaw with dire consequences by Rymbai on Tuesday evening. Rymbai was arrested when he was on his way to his village.
JFY is one of the pressure groups demanding action against Rymbai for the alleged misappropriation of funds worth over Rs 2 crore following the findings through RTI applications.
Several  FIRs were lodged against Rymbai, who is also the newly elected MDC from Sohmynting-Khliehtyrshi district council constituency.
