KHADC EMs’ list gets Guv seal

SHILLONG: Governor Dr KK Paul approved the list of the new Executive Members (EMs) of the KHADC on Thursday, Commissioner and Secretary in charge District Council Affairs department Jopthiaw Lyngdoh informed.
KHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit, when contacted, said that he would allot the portfolios to the new EMs in the coming few days.
The list approved by Dr Paul included four Ems from UDP and three each from KHNAM and HSPDP.
As expected, UDP had Shella MDC Teinwell Dkhar for the post of Deputy CEM while the three other EMs from the UDP are Umsning MDC Donkupar Sumer, Nongpoh MDC Rona Khymdeit and Mawkyrwat MDC Hadrian Lyngdoh.
According to party sources, UDP had convinced the two MLA/MDCs of the party HB Nongsiej and Metbah Lyngdoh who represented Mawthadraishan-Pariong and Mairang constituencies respectively to sit out.
The three EMs from KHNAM are Mawlai MDC Process T Sawkmie, Nongthymmai MDC Latiplang Kharkongor and Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah MDC James Ban Basaiawmoit.
It may be mentioned that Jaiaw MDC Adelbert Nongrum who is also KHNAM working president had decided to sacrifice by allowing the other MDCs to occupy the posts of EMs.
Among the HSPDP MDCs who featured in the list were Rambrai-Jyrngam MDC KP Pangngiang, Nongshken MDC Grace Mary Kharpuri and Nongstoin MDC LG Nongsiej.
