Ex-JHADC CEM released on bail

JOWAI: Former JHADC Chief and Khliehtyrshi-Sohmynthing MDC Madonbai Rymbai was on Friday released on bail, a day after his arrest by Jowai Police.
Rymbai was arrested for threatening JYF president Poipynhun L Majaw with dire consequences on Tuesday evening.
Police sources on Friday informed that Rymbai was arrested on Thursday night after some high drama. Following a complaint from the JYF chief, police were drawing plans to arrest the ex-JHADC chief when Rymbai landed at the Jowai Police Station at around 8:30 am and was immediately arrested.
“He was taken to Ialong District Civil Hospital for medical check-up after which police brought him back to the Police Station and were arranging to produce him before the Court”, police sources said.
Interestingly, on reaching the DC’s Office on their way to the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rymbai suddenly escaped, the sources informed.
However, at around 9:30 pm on Thursday night a police team intercepted a vehicle belonging to Rymbai’s friend near Myntdu Bridge and rearrested Rymbai. At the time of his arrest he was travelling from Jowai to Khliehtyrshi village.
He was once again taken to Ialong District Civil Hospital for another medical check-up and was kept in lock-up for the night.
On Friday, he was produced in the Court and was released on bail.
