SHILLONG: GNLA has condemned the recent statement made by Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma in the Assembly against its chairman Champion R Sangma, saying that it only proved Dr. Sangma’s arrogance and lack of understanding. It also said that all the legislators who listened to the statement fell in the same category.

Speaking highly of its leader, the outfit’s sergeant, Savio C Marak said that Champion was one learned, educated person and that his level of education was no less than Mukul Sangma’s. “Champion is one straight and sincere leader, who does not think about money, but puts his love for his people and his land above everything else”, he said.

Stating that there was no minister or an MLA or an officer or a militant leader who was like their leader Champion, Savio goes on to say that the A’chik community and A’chik land need leaders him.

“Today there is nobody who can speak anything against Champion and maybe Mukul’s outburst stems from the fact that he has little knowledge or maybe he has simply lost his mind”, he added.
