Malda: Three persons received bullet injuries during an armed clash between Congress and Trinamool Congress supporters on Monday in Malda district in West Bengal.

The clash with guns and bombs took place at Kaliachowk’s Babla area when rival supporters were painting graffiti on the walls for the ensuing Lok Sabha poll, Malda Superintendent of Police Rajesh Yadav said.

Three bystanders were injured in the clash, he said. Earlier he had said that three Congress supporters were injured.

“The three injured persons are hospitalised. Two persons have been arrested,” the SP said. The situation was brought under control and a police picket was stationed in the area as a precautionary measure, Yadav added. (PTI)
