Guwahati: In a significant comment that points to efforts at co-ordination among several militant outfits from the north east region, ULFA commander in chief Paresh Barua has expressed his gratitude to NSCN (Khaplang), Coordination Committee of Manipur, Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO), National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) and other “brotherly organizations” for their cooperation and help extended to the ULFA over the years.

On the occasion of its ‘Army Day,’ the ULFA commander-in-chief has called upon senior leaders of the outfit “not to encourage in negative thinking and instead try to boost the morale of the cadres who are fighting the enemy valiantly in the field.”

Finding itself in difficulty, because of sustained operation of the security forces and desertion by a large number of its cadres and senior leaders in the last couple of years, the fugitive commander-in-chief of the outlawed ULFA has called upon ULFA ranks to mount vigil against the ‘agents’ planted by ‘enemies’ to demolish the ‘revolution based on historical truth’.

The ULFA leader expressing his dissatisfaction over the gloomy atmosphere prevailing in its base camps, has called upon its men in camps to recharge the atmosphere in the camps in such a way that a cadre who has come back tired from the field after fighting the enemy, could take his well deserved rest in an comfortable atmosphere to rejuvenate himself before taking another plunge in the ‘battlefield’.

The ULFA group led by Paresh Barua which is called ULFA (Independent), is opposed to the talks that is being carried out by the faction led by former chairman of the outfit Arabinda Rajkhowa and comorising of most of the senior and founder leaders of the outfit.

After the pro-talks group broke away over two years back, the ULFA (Independent) is now trying very hard to regain its foothold in Assam, but its repeated attempts to strike roots anew have been successfully foiled by the security forces in Assam.
