Notification for second phase Assam polls

Guwahati: The notification for the second phase polling in Assam was issued on Wednesday by the Election Commission of India.

Three constituencies of the state – Silchar, Karimganj and Autonomous District (Diphu), will go to the polls in the second phase on April 12.

As per the notification, March 26 is the last date for making nomination and scrutiny of the nominations will be undertaken the next day.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed on March 29.

Polling will be held on April 12 from 0700 hrs to 1700 hrs in the state.

Assam goes to polls in three phase on April 7, 12 and 24 to elect 14 Lok Sabha members. Counting of votes will be conducted on May 16. (UNI)
