SHILLONG: The Shillong Traffic Police team won the SCA Corporate Cum Office League on Thursday in a final that went right down to the wire, requiring a super over to separate the two contesting teams.
The runners-up were 1st MLP, who fell short in the tiebreaker by four runs.
In yet another low-scoring contest at the Cricket Ground, Polo, both teams scored 98 runs in 20 overs.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, 1st MLP made 98/9, with Kumar Sewa top-scoring with 25 runs. Wanlambok Nongkhlaw took 3-15 in four overs.
In reply, STP lost six wickets in their innings of 98, with Andrew Sangma contributing 20 runs. Bilash Singha claimed 2-17 in four overs.
In the super over, the traffic police made 10/1 off their six balls and then restricted 1st MLP to 6/1, thus winning the match.
