SHILLONG: The State unit of BJP has rued the fact that Meghalaya which was once a power surplus state is now facing the brunt of load shedding.

BJP Meghalaya unit General secretary Dipayan Chakraborty on Friday said that the ongoing load shedding is causing tremendous hardship to the people of the State.

According to Chakraborty, the inability of the State Government to provide uninterrupted power supply also raises a big question on the assertions of the State Government that it is promoting industries in Meghalaya.

He even added that BJP would provide all requirements for the State for flourishing of Industries if the BJP led NDA Government is elected to power.
