Royals end African safari with victory

SHILLONG: Another strong performance saw Royal Wahingdoh’s U-17 team conclude their Future Champions tournament with a victory over China’s Shandong Luneng via a tiebreaker (4-3) in Gauteng, South Africa, on Saturday.
The match was a near repeat of their previous outing against local team Supersport United’s junior team where the Royals also won 4-3.
At the end of regulation time, the scores were tied at 1-1 with Loken Meitei scoring for the Royals.
Wahingdoh ended their tournament with two wins, two draws, and on defeat.
