SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Chess Association (MCA) conducted the Meghalaya State ‘B’ Chess Championship from March 22-28 at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Jail Road, here.
The top eight players who have qualified to play against the top four in the upcoming State ‘A’ Chess Championship are G Medhi, G Chakravarty, Kiran Joshi, Gillford Thangkhiew, G Rai, Alisha Lyngdoh, Kishan Dey and Jerry N Pajat, according to a press release from the MCA.
The top four from the State ‘A’ will represent Meghalaya in the National Chess Challenger, which will be held in Shimla from May 9-19.
