Bullseye: Khliehriat hosts archery event

SHILLONG: The first ever Coaching Camp cum Inter School archery tournament for East Jaintia Hills was held at Teilang Playground, Khliehriat, between March 18-29, organised by the District Sports Officer for West and East Jaintia Hills.

The camp was led by archery coach Valareen Shylla between March 18-27, with the tournament held on the final two days.

A total of 70 boys and girls took part over the course of the event.

The tournament was held over a distance of 30 metres (Indian Round) in an inter-school format (both team and individual) and open category (individual only).

Inter-school results:

Girls team round: 1st Khliehriat Higher Sec School, 2nd Dkhiah East Sec School, 3rd Ambrose Memorial Sec School

Boys team round: 1st Dkhiah Presbyterian Sec School, 2nd Khliehriat Higher Sec School, 3rd Dkhiah East Sec School

Girls individual round: 1st Wonderful Tariang (Iawpynkat LPUP School), 2nd Batskhem Tlang (Dkhiah Presbyterian Sec School), 3rd Manisha Dkhar (Khliehriat Higher Sec School)

Boys individual round: 1st Skhemthik Salahe (Dkhiah Presbyterian Sec School), 2nd Thombor Syntem (Khliehriat Higher Sec School), 3rd Emlang Dkhar (Khliehriat Higher Sec School)

Open category results:

Girls: 1st Delight Phawa, 2nd Wanmini Nongsiej, 3rd Kermika Dhar

Boys: 1st Heplang Bareh, 2nd Sumarbha Bareh, 3rd Determine Phawa
