Inter-school athletics meet from April 29

SHILLONG: The District Level Inter School Athletics Meet 2014 for boys and girls will be held between April 29 and May 1 at Don Bosco Mini Stadium, Laitumkhrah, organised by the office of the East Khasi Hills District Sports Officer.

The athletic meet will have three age categories – under-14, under-16 and above-16.

There will be a march past competition for the best contingent, boys and girls.

Screening will be conducted on April 23-24 from 9:00am at the office of the DSO for the U-14s and U-16s. There will be no screening for the above-16s, but only those up to Class 12 will be allowed to participate.

Those taking part in the U-16 events must be born on or after June 1 1998, while those in the U-14 category must be born on or after June 1 2000.

U-14 events: 100m, 600m, long jump, shot put 4kg (boys) and 3kg (girls).

U-16 events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 2000m, long jump, high jump, shot put 5kg (boys) and 4kg (girls), discus 1kg.

Above-16 events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 3000m (girls), 5000m (boys), long jump, high jump, shot put 6kg (boys) and 4kg (girls), discus 1.5kg (boys) and 1kg (girls), javelin 800gm (boys) and 600gm (girls), 4x100m and 4x400m relay.

Entry forms can be obtained from the office of the DSO during office hours and the last date of submission is April 21.
