Extortion

William F. Khyriem lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on March 31 around 6 pm, one John Tham was caught red-handed while he was demanding money at Demthring, Shillong in the name of the Durbar Shnong. Police arrested the accused.

Assault

On March 30 at about 5 pm, one Pinky M. Marak along with his accomplices forcibly entered the Forest Beat office at Chisibibra (EGH) and assaulted one employee of the Beat Office Saleng N. Marak (36).

On March 29 around 9.30 pm, unidentified miscreants numbering 5-6 assaulted Kobarsing Mawlong in his residence at Mawiong Rim, Shillong. In this connection, Police arrested Esterral Dohtdong, Lucky Syiemlieh, John Rympeit, Larikupar Dohtdong and Phyrnai Rina.

On March 31 at about 5 pm, one Kedak Pathaw assaulted Minorstar Thangkhiew (46) at Nongkesh, Upper Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.

Cheating

Bilal Hussain lodged a complaint on March 31 at Ranikor PS that one Md. Monsur Ahmed cheated him of Rs.2,93,000 in a coal deal and threatened him with dire consequences.

Theft

On March 30 around 2.20 am, residents of Dobetkolgre village (EGH) apprehended two persons, Tilu G. Momin (18) and Januth G. Momin (19), while they were attempting to steal a motorcycle belonging to Sintha D. Sangma from the village and later handed them over to Williamnagar PS.
