Chopper gives a miss to Mukul

SHILLONG: A helicopter played truant with Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Thursday, causing him to miss an appointment with AICC general secretary in charge Meghalaya Luzinho Faleiro as well as six public rallies.

Sources on Thursday informed that the Chief Minister, who is busy campaigning in Garo Hills, could not make it Shillong to attend the meeting convene by Faleiro. The AICC had allotted a chopper to Dr. Sangma but kept it at the disposal of Assam Congress.

According to sources, the Chief Minister waited from 1 pm to 5.30 pm for the chopper but it never came.

He could not address scheduled election rallies at Dobu, Damas, Daram, Rabhagre, Rongchek and Akong either due to non-arrival of the chopper.
