Kohima: Nagaland Governor Ashwani Kumar today emphasised on improvement of the Basic Minimum need to the people of the remote areas of the state, with lack of proper infrastructure for education, health and agriculture systems, especially to the younger generation of the society.
Addressing the Silver Jubilee celebration-cum-Aoleang Monyu, 2014 of the Konyak Naga tribe, organised by the Konyak Union Kohima (KUK) at the Naga Heritage Village Kisama, about 12 km away from Kohima, the Governor said after learning about the history of Konyak Naga community, he had planned the backward Mon district, dominated by the Konyak Nagas, which he termed as ‘eye opening visit.’
During his visit to the interior areas of the district, he found lack of basic infrastructure for health, education, scientific agriculture systems and other developmental activities, without proper buildings of the schools without good teachers.
He also said as per statistics, Mon district is the most backward in terms of literacy and education. (UNI)
