Smallest polling station

The State has to set up a polling station at Paham Sohbar under Jirang constituency in Ri-Bhoi for only 28 voters. There are 10 male and 18 female voters (all Khasis) in the polling station, which is 8 km from Byrnihat. However, Rongrenggre under Williamnagar has the highest number of voters with 1409.

EPICs

If anyone loses EPIC, there is no cause of worry during the polls as his or her name in the electoral rolls will come in handy. Moreover, the name will also figure in voters’ list being provided by booth level officers.

NOTA

A woman listening to the discussions on whom to vote, heard the majority saying that this time they would be opting for NOTA. Immediately the woman asked, which party is he from?

Freedom to vote

A voter in Pynursla has brought to the notice of the supporter of a particular political party that when a vehicle is parked in a no parking zone, the vehicle is clamped, but there is no law which takes the voter to task when he does not cast his votes. The reply to the voter by the supporter of the party was that the beauty of Indian democracy is that everyone is free to vote without any compulsion.
