Itanagar: The Deputy Commissioner has directed all hospitals in the Capital Complex not to discharge patients as the movement of private and commercial vehicles would be restricted tomorrow in view of simultaneous elections in Arunachal Pradesh.

The order was issued today after a joint briefing of magistrates and police officer’s duty on the Poll day for picketing point was held in a specially convened meeting in the deputy commissioner (Capital)’s office in the presence of SP Mr S P Kuruvilla.

The vehicles, including taxis and rickshaws are also strictly prohibited. Even the doctors and nurses on duty are advised to travel or avail ambulance instead of private cars because no other vehicles except those specifically permitted are allowed to ply on the road on the poll day, the DC informed.

The magistrates and police officers were given clear instruction to enforce section 144 CrPC. (PTI)
