Officer go missing from Arunachal polling station

Itanagar: An election official appointed as polling officers in the Sine Village polling station under 35-Pangin Assembly Constituency in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh is still missing since the poll day on April 9.

Confirming the report, SP, Devender Arya informed that the 44-years-old Michu Dabi went outside the polling station probably attending the nature call when voting was in progress at about 2.30 pm.

Since then, he has been missing and search operations continued, but, his whereabouts were not known, he added.

The local police had registered a case in this connection and investigation was on, police sources said, adding, however, no police officials from SP office has yet visited the remote polling booth located in the northern part of the district.

District election official sources informed that Mr Dabi, an assistant teacher in Adi Tako Government Primary School at Nari-Koyu, deputed for poll duty at the Sine polling booth, went outside during polling.

He has not turned up to the polling station since then. And instead of returning, he straight went to IB where he was staying and left there with his belongings, sources said.(UNI)
