SHILLONG: Technical issues may force the second Shillong I-League derby between Rangdajied United and Shillong Lajong to be brought forward by two and a half hours, robbing the fans of a floodlit last match of the season in the city.

Due to a problem with the lights at the JN Stadium, Polo, the Director of Sports and Youth Affairs has asked Rangdajied, who are acting as hosts for the game on April 21, to advance the timing from 5:30pm to 3:00pm.

That may cause some inconvenience to the fans as April 21 is a Monday.

The first ever Shillong derby was held last year in front of a massive crowd and a similar turnout had been hoped for this time as well.

The floodlights were installed at the stadium just over a year ago and have worked with only a couple of minor hitches since.
