In a statement issued here on Wednesday the NGOs termed the rape as an inhuman act and urged the authorities concerned not to grant bail to the accused by any means but to initiate legal proceedings in a fast track court so as to pronounce punishment to the culprit at the earliest.
The NGOs also demanded from the government that compensation be given to the victim, that her safety is ensured through rehabilitation and that immediate arrangements are made for the victim’s future.
