Williamnagar NGOs condemn Resu rape incident

TURA: The combined NGOs of Williamnagar comprising of the GSU, AIGU, FAF, FKJGP, Mothers’ Federation, ICFS and AYF have jointly condemned the recent rape of an 11-year-old minor school girl from Resubelpara by her own uncle, Periglesh G Momin who is also her teacher.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday the NGOs termed the rape as an inhuman act and urged the authorities concerned not to grant bail to the accused by any means but to initiate legal proceedings in a fast track court so as to pronounce punishment to the culprit at the earliest.
The NGOs also demanded from the government that compensation be given to the victim, that her safety is ensured through rehabilitation and that immediate arrangements are made for the victim’s future.
