SHILLONG: BSF troops deployed in East Jaintia Hills on Sunday recovered one muzzle loaded Single Barrel Gun from Umkiang area.

In another incident BSF troops deployed along the International border in South West Khasi Hills, apprehended a person Pradip K Polin (35) and seized six detonators, six dorica gillatine type Indian explosive 25 mm size & 125 gm weight, eleven Safety Fuse while moving on one Yamaha motorcycle (ML05J-6810) suspiciously. The arrested person who works as mason in a bridge construction company has been handed over to Ranikore PS with seized explosive for further legal action.

Over the last one week, BSF troops apprehended two Indian smugglers and also seized 540 bottles liquor, wooden logs worth more than Rs. 2 Lakh and other contraband items worth over Rs. 3 lakh while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh.
