SHILLONG: The Global Social Welfare Organization has sought a clarification from the District Transport Office on the seating capacity of local taxis in the city.

GSWO also sought a clarification on the taxi fares saying that the cabbies charge Rs. 10 from Last stop to Rhino Point, Rs. 20 from Mawlonghat to Last Stop and Rs. 10 from Civil Police Point to Last Stop.

The GSWO also complained that taxi drivers are often seen wearing shabby dresses and are found to be intoxicated and often misbehaving with the passengers.
