Rape
On April 20, one Aibor Sohkhwai (27) raped a thirteen-year-old girl at Umkadhor village (RB). Police arrested the accused.
Murder
On April 20 around 10 pm, Binod Tamang and Asung Tamang assaulted Raju Kachari at Umlawang (EJH). Victim sustained grievous injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
One set ablaze
On April 10 around 4 pm, one Haman Rajbongshi doused his wife Savitri Chettri (23) with kerosene oil and set her on fire at her residence at Laikilo, Sutnga Road (EJH). Victim sustained grievous injuries and was rushed to NEIGRIHMS.
Suicide attempted
On April 21 at about 3.50 pm, one Bikash Gurung attempted to commit suicide by hanging in his residence at Paltan Bazar, Shillong.
6-year-old taken without father’s consent
Lucash M Sangma lodged a complaint on April 20 at Chokpot PS that one Dilesh Ch. Momin and his wife Sengme Ch. Marak took his six-year-old daughter from his residence at Papusongmong village (SGH), without his consent.
Theft
On April 19 night, unknown miscreants broke into Rongram Higher Secondary School (WGH) and stole two CPUs, one computer monitor, one music home theatre system, scanner, science laboratory equipments, six wall clocks etc., valued around Rs. 73,380.
Body recovered
Ksohmon Rymbai lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on April 17, the body of her son Army Rymbai (29) was recovered from Riatsabah, Khliehtyrshi (WJH). Deceased was reportedly missing from his residence at Mookyniang, Khliehtyrshi village (WJH), since April 15, 2014.
