Jail Road Boys scrape through, Laban Bengalee romp home

SHILLONG: Jail Road Boys and Laban Bengalee School had contrasting victories in the Inter School Cricket Tournament at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Wednesday.
Jail Road Boys beat Buddha Vidya Niketan by just three runs, while Laban Bengalee School were 113-run victors over Garo Union School.
Choosing to bat first, Jail Road Boys made 132/9 in 25 overs. Ananj Kumar Ray scored 25 runs, while Bishan Tamang took 2-18 in five overs.
In reply, Buddha Vidya Niketan fell only four runs short of victory. Pratap Chanda scored 28, while Tapas Das took 3-18 in 4.3 overs and Chittaranjan Thakur took 3-26.
Meanwhile, Laban Bengalee put up 153/6 in 20 overs. Suprio Kumar made 82 off just 63 balls, while Tensrang Ch Momin claimed 2-25 in five overs.
In reply, Garo Union were dismissed for only 40 in 10.2 overs. Suprio and Rahul Pal each ended with figures of 3-10.
