Indian Ambassador to Myanmar visits Nagaland

Kohima: The Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Gautam Mukhopadhaya visited International Trade Center at Pangsha under Tuensang district, along the Indo-Myanmar international border recently.

According to official sources on Thursday Mukhopadhya was accompanied by Deputy Chairman State Planning Board P. Longon, Parliamentary Secretary for Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Yitachu, MP of Myanmar, Samo and other officials. Speaking on the occasion, Mukhopadhya said the main reason of his visit was to see the development process of the Trade Centre and the potential possibilities of development for the border people and promote healthy relations between the Nagas living both in India and Myanmar. He said the most important component to uplift the border people through trade and the development project for better communication and transportation are in the record. Therefore, the Government of India has opened border Trade Centers in many places.

He also advised the gathering to promote and cooperate in the areas of culture for better relation between the two sides for healthy progress of trade functioning. He thanked the reformed democratic Government in Myanmar for showing more interest in trade and development. (UNI)
