DA hike for State govt staff

SHILLONG: The state government has enhanced the dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees from the present 80% to 89%.

The April 17 office memorandum of the Finance department said that the dearness allowance payable to the state government employees, pensioners and family pension holders will be enhanced with effect from January 1, 2014.

The order will also apply to the members of the work-charged establishment and causal workers, other than bungalow peons, holding posts in the scale of as admissible to the employees of corresponding categories under the regular establishment, services or posts.

However, as per the order, the dearness allowance will remain suspended if the pensioners , family pension holders are employed, re-employed or permanently absorbed in the State or Central government’s company, corporation, undertaking or autonomous body. However, this will be revived after such employment.
