SHILLONG: As Meghal-aya continues to reel under severe power crisis, Opposition UDP will hold a sit-in demonstration on Tuesday to put pressure on the State government to resolve the problem.
Led by UDP working president Jemino Mawthoh, the sit-in demonstration will be staged at the parking lot near Additional Secretariat from 10 am to 5 pm.
The East Khasi Hills district administration has, meanwhile, given permission to stage the demonstration.
Mawthoh on Monday said that this was only the first phase of the programme while adding that the party would continue with more peaceful agitation to pressurize the State Government to resolve the problem.
