Pensioners’ body opposes power tariff hike in State

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pensioners’ Association has asked the Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Committee to reconsider its decision to hike the power tariff in the State.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chairman of the MSERC, the association said that the pensioners get only two dearness allowances in a year and are not in a position to deal with the increased tariff.
