Miscreants desecrate graveyard at Tura

SHILLONG: Unknown miscreants trespassed into a graveyard at Dakopgre and vandalized the crosses on four graves in Tura on April 15.
Secretary of Dakopgre Public Graveyard, Tura, Nikhil T Sangma, lodged a police complaint in this regard at Tura police station.
The incident comes to light at a time when the entire Garo Hills is alarmed at the emergence of so-called Satan worshipping.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi also expressed concern at the growing instances of people resorting to such beliefs.
Bakshi said that the Church will organize counseling programmes for youths while police will extend full cooperation to the district administration to restrict such incidents.
